Move a design to another design-system library by name: components, styles, variables and modes, previewed first.
Library Swap moves a design from one design-system library to another by name. Each instance becomes the same component in the new library with the closest variant, keeping the text and switches you set. Text, color, effect and grid styles and variables are rebound to the same names, every range of a text included. And a frame set to Dark stays on Dark in the new collection, which Figma's own swap leaves behind.
Figma gives plugins no list of what a library holds, so a library is indexed once: open the library file, run Library Swap and click Index this file. The map, names and keys only, stays on your computer, and you can copy it to another one. Then pick what to swap and the library to swap to, read the preview (what matches, what is close, what has no match) and swap on a copy or in place. It works in small steps with a Stop button, leaves what has no match linked and listed, and never sends anything out of your file.
It is made for Alea's seven looks (Graphite, Midnight, Glass, Ember, Solar, Moss and Fun Lab): they share every component, style and variable name, so a whole product can move from one look to another in one pass. It works for any two libraries that share names, and you can map the rest by hand.
The libraries you indexed, or pasted in.
Matches, close ones and what has no match, with counts.
Run it in the library file. The map stays on your computer.
What changed, what stayed linked, one click to select it.
